China.. Akhannouch visits the “Goshen Hi-Tech” factory and takes stock of the progress of the work of the industrial unit in Kenitra

Yesterday, Friday, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch visited the “Gushen Hi-Tech” factory in the city of Hefei, China, where he was informed of the progress of the work of the huge industrial unit in Kenitra, during a meeting with the group’s president, Zhen Li.
On the sidelines of his visit to Beijing, where he represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, Mr. Akhannouch also visited the huge “United Cell Line” factory of the Goshen Hi-Tech Group. , which is considered the “distinctive” factory of the Goshen Hi-Tech Group and the Volkswagen Group. Akhannouch was accompanied by the Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of investment, management and evaluation of public policies, Mohsen Al-Jazouli, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises, Chakib Laalaj, and the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports, Ali Al-Seddiqi.
On this occasion, the head of the Goshen Hi-Tech group confirmed that the project schedule had been met, explaining that the construction works of the industrial unit should be completed within 8 months in accordance with the obligations.
The huge industrial unit in Kenitra is an integrated project for the production of electric batteries, the first phase of which will require an investment of 14 billion dirhams and will create 17 thousand jobs. The industrial unit is expected to start its activities in the second quarter of 2026.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to actively support and assist this strategic project, which will enable Morocco to acquire the first major industrial unit in the Middle East and Africa region.
The vast “Goshen Hi-Tech” industrial unit project in Kenitra is also part of a broader dynamic of developing the electric battery system in Morocco.
This project can integrate and cooperate with other ongoing strategic initiatives, such as JV CNGR and Al Mada in Jorf Lasfar.
On this occasion, the Moroccan delegation visited the huge industrial unit “Enavid Cell Line”, the result of technological cooperation between the Volkswagen Group and the “Gosh Hi-Tech” group. It covers an area of 45,000 square meters with a production capacity of up to 180,000 battery systems per year dedicated to equipping Volkswagen electric cars produced in China. This unit is fully automated and equipped with the latest advanced technologies, making it the “signature” factory of the Gushen Hi-Tech group in China.
This visit allowed the delegation to inspect the operation of a battery plant similar to the one that should be operated in Morocco, thus reinforcing confidence in the capabilities of the company “Goshen Hi-Tech” to carry out a project of this magnitude in Morocco.
