‘Strange’ ad sparks widespread controversy in Morocco (photo)
A strange advertisement has set social media ablaze in Morocco, as a private school was offered for sale with its students. It is possible that the poor wording of the promotional advertisement is the cause of this misunderstanding among the pioneers of social media.
The ad, posted on one of Kenitra’s real estate pages on Facebook, stated: “A private school for sale in Kenitra, with an area of 412 square meters. And 373 students…it has 3 interfaces. With a monthly net income of 12 million…the price is 640 million.
As a result, sarcastic and angry comments have poured in about the ad, which might have been normal if it had not addressed the issue of selling to students.
Activists called the ad insulting and unacceptable, while others said it included human trafficking.
