In the commune of Tamanart: floods cost the lives of two people and houses collapsed

Two people were killed last night as floods and torrential rain swept through Tata.

The mayor of Tamanart said in a press release: “Last night, Tata governorate and its affiliated municipality of Tamanart witnessed floods following heavy rains that inundated a number of areas, leading to a temporary death toll of two and at least 12 missing people.”

Bhoush added: “These floods caused material damage and the collapse of around ten houses in Tamanart.”

He continued: “The floods have also blocked roads and telephone lines, making it difficult to estimate the real number of people missing.”

He stressed that “the authorities have mobilized all means to break the isolation of the besieged areas and announced the mobilization of the relevant government agencies, including civil prevention personnel.” The same official told Anatolia Agency
