Earthquake-affected regions: reconstruction and rehabilitation of 42 health centres

As part of the high royal guidelines and national efforts to address the devastating effects of the Al Haouz earthquake of September 8, 2023, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has carried out, in the disaster areas, the rehabilitation and restoration of 42 health centers, the reconstruction work of which was carried out by the National Agency for Public Equipment.
Thus, 27 health centers in the Marrakech-Safi region were rebuilt in the provinces of Chichaoua, Marrakech and Al Haouz, the ministry said in a statement, noting that at the level of the province of Chichaoua, several health centers were rehabilitated, including the second-level rural health centers Assif Elmal, Lalla Aziza and Tamlilt, as well as the first-level rural health center Sidi Ghanem and the rural dispensary Sidi M’hamed Dalil.
In the same province, the ministry carried out the rehabilitation of the Al Maaissra rural dispensary, the first-level rural health centers Houkat and Ouled El Bour, the Lakhnig, Moulay Ibrahim Rouha, Lamzara rural dispensaries, as well as the Sidi Bouzid first-level rural health center, the Timezgadiouine second-level rural health center, the Zaouiya Nahliya rural dispensary, the Zaouia Belmkaddem first-level urban health center and the rural dispensaries in Tazidra, Jorf and Laghsasla.
At the level of the province of Marrakech, the rehabilitation of health centers in the affected urban neighborhoods was carried out in order to ensure the resumption of basic care for the benefit of the populations of the province, notes the same source, reporting the reconstruction of the first level urban health centers Hay Hassani, El Abbasi and El Azzouzia.
Efforts in Al Haouz province also focused on rehabilitating rural health centers located in remote mountainous areas, such as the second-level centers of Asni and Tazart, and the first-level rural centers of Amegdoul, Oulad Yahya and Amlil, in addition to the Ben Kebbour rural dispensary.
As for the Souss-Massa region, the ministry has restored 14 health centers in the province of Taroudant, including the first-level rural health centers Assads, Ounein, Tikouka and Sidi Ouaaziz, the second-level urban health center Aoulouz, as well as the second-level rural health center Oulad Aissa.
Similarly, the restoration works concerned the first level rural health centers Assaki, Talmakant, El Koudia, OulKadii and Berguene, as well as the second level urban centers Arzan and Tafengoul, in addition to the Outouan rural dispensary, notes the same source.
In the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, the ministry rehabilitated a rural dispensary in the province of Azilal.
These efforts come within the framework of the projects implemented to develop health infrastructure and guarantee the continuity of health services offered to citizens in areas severely damaged by the earthquake, in accordance with the high guidelines of King Mohammed VI, concludes the same source.
