Built 3 months ago. The Fasek dam in Guelmim province receives its first load of water
Heba Press – Guelmim
The Fasek dam, in the province of Guelmim in the Moroccan Sahara, received, on Saturday evening, the first load of water due to the heavy rainfall that the region has experienced.
Construction work on the dam, with a capacity of 80 million cubic metres, was completed only three months ago.
Local residents felt that the aforementioned dam would greatly benefit the region and that it played an important role during the recent rainfall.
The dam stored water from recent rains, for reuse during periods of drought, which will help provide drinking water and irrigate fields, and support the sustainable development of the Guelmim region.
