The date of September 8 reminded Moroccans of the tragic Al Haouz earthquake, which left dozens dead and injured, and significant material losses in the provinces of Al Haouz, Taroudant and Azilal.

A year after the tragedy that shook the hearts of Moroccans and the world, the government reviewed all the measures and efforts deployed under royal instructions, thanks to which the Kingdom was able to react quickly and effectively and withstand the repercussions of this natural disaster.

Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch said during the 11th meeting of the inter-ministerial committee in charge of the general program for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, that the process of free distribution of livestock to the affected herders will be completed during the month of September, which began last January, when 28,000 heads have been distributed to cover all the needs of the affected herders, while the committee recorded the completion of the distribution of 353,830 quintals of barley, which benefited 48,581 farmers.

The committee also recorded, Akhannouch added, the completion of the rehabilitation process of 54 kilometers of rural roads, in addition to the fact that the rehabilitation rate of small and medium irrigation schemes now reaches 97 percent.
