Marseille coach: Onahi is the one who wanted to leave

Italian Roberto De Zerbe, coach of French Olympique de Marseille, spoke about the reasons for the departure of Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi from the team.

De Zerbe said in a statement: “As for Onahi, he wanted to leave, and I knew that from the beginning. “The players who left were good, but a change was necessary.”

He added: “Due to Onahi’s desire to leave, I did not play him in our friendlies in England and Augsburg. “We will follow his season and see next year because he is still under contract with us.”

Azzedine Ounahi was loaned to the Greek club Panathinaikos for one season during the current summer transfer window.
