Seizure of more than 72 kg of cannabis at the Bab Sebta border crossing

Customs and national security elements at the Bab Sebta border crossing foiled, during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a smuggling operation of 72.4 kg of cannabis.
A customs source indicated that customs officers, in collaboration with national security forces at the exit zone of the Bab Sebta border crossing, subjected an all-terrain vehicle registered abroad to a thorough search using trained police dogs, which made it possible to discover this quantity of drugs.
The same source added that the manual search found this quantity of drugs carefully hidden in caches prepared in various parts of the vehicle structure.
The driver of the vehicle, a Dutch national, was handed over to the judicial police to continue the investigation under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor's office, while customs officers seized the vehicle and the drugs for the purposes of the investigation.
