Walid Regragui’s first comment on the difficult victory against Lesotho
Walid Regragui, coach of the Moroccan first national team, commented on the difficult victory of the “Atlas Lions” against the Lesotho national team on a clear goal (1-0), in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations.
National voter Walid Regragui said after the match: “We thought the match would be easy after beating Gabon with four goals, but we faced a strong team (Lesotho), who had recently drawn against Nigeria.”
Al-Rakraki added: “Congratulations to the Lesotho national team. They played a good match. In such matches, the game is open when you score, as we did in the last match.”
He added: “We did not score early, even though we created several chances. Such matches are good for the players because they know that the level of African football is not what it used to be.
He concluded: “We saw in the second half, when experienced players were introduced, that the pattern of the game changed. We wanted the crowd to see more goals, but we lacked attacking depth, and football needs depth and we have excellent players who are good at that.
