Morocco-China: 4.1 billion dirhams for a project, which was the subject of a MoU in April 2024, which will allow the creation of 11,000 direct jobs within 3 years

Last Saturday in Shanghai, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, met with Lei Xu, chairman of the Sunrise group, a world leader in the textile industry, which has offices in several Asian countries.

For the occasion, Aziz Akhannouch visited the Gotion High Tech factory the day before in Hefei, China, and took stock of the progress of work on the Kenitra gigafactory during a working meeting with the president of the Zen Li group.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies Mohcine Jazouli and the Director General of the Moroccan Agency for the Development of Investments and Exports Ali Seddiki.

That said, Akhannouch assured the support of the Moroccan State for the realization of a strategic investment project of the Sunrise group in Morocco, amounting to 4.1 billion dirhams. This project, which was the subject of a MoU in April 2024, will allow the creation of 11,000 direct jobs within 3 years in several Regions of the Kingdom, through the launch of industrial complexes integrating the entire sector.

On the other hand, this investment will help revitalize the national textile sector, fully integrated into global value chains, and will contribute to the strategy of prioritizing job creation deployed by the government.
