For the first time, Morocco has ranked second among African tourist destinations, ahead of South Africa, according to a new report published by the Spanish company “Bloom Consulting”, which specializes in the analysis of national brands.

According to the ranking, Morocco has moved up one place compared to the previous edition, which has caused South Africa to drop to third place. This progress is the result of an effective digital strategy, which has enabled Morocco to significantly improve its performance on the Internet and on social networks, while maintaining stability in other areas. Bloom Consulting underlines in its report that this digital growth reflects the growing attractiveness of the Kingdom on the international tourist scene.

The report also highlights Morocco’s resilience, particularly in the face of recent challenges, such as the September 2023 earthquake.

According to Bloom Consulting, how the country addresses these challenges will play a decisive role in its future tourism position. This will affect the rating.

Bloom Consulting evaluates destinations based on several key criteria, such as tourism revenue, online search volume, performance of personalized websites, and the presence of industry players on social networks. These indicators help analyze the overall attractiveness of countries in terms of tourism and their ability to stand out in a competitive environment.
