The Moroccan government intervened, through the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, to prevent the employment of dozens of Moroccan nurses in Canada.

The province of Quebec in Canada sent an email to several Moroccan nurses indicating that the recruitment meeting scheduled for October 26 and 27 in Rabat had been cancelled.

The Moroccan Ministry of Health has asked Canada to stop recruiting Moroccan nurses, saying that Morocco needs them given the lack of human resources in the sector.

The information from the Canadian province provoked anger and discontent among nurses who considered the intervention of the aforementioned ministry as a flagrant violation of their freedom and personal choices.

It is worth noting that Quebec, Canada, has allocated a budget of 68 million Canadian dollars to attract and employ 1,000 foreign nurses and retrain them to work in its hospitals and health centers.
