Incitement to illegal immigration leads to the arrest of 60 people in Tangier and Tetouan

The security operations launched by the police services in the cities of Tangier and Tetouan to combat digital content inciting the organization of illegal immigration, between September 9 and 11 of this month, resulted in the arrest of 60 people, including minors, suspected of being involved in the fabrication and dissemination of false news on social networks inciting the organization of massive illegal immigration operations.

The information vigilance services of the National Security had monitored the digital content published on social networking sites, directly inciting the capture of the security barrier located between the city of Fnideq and the city of Ceuta on 09/15/2024, and also inciting users of social networking sites and media applications to massively engage in illegal immigration.

The technical research and field investigations carried out made it possible to identify, from precise data provided by the services of the General Directorate of National Territorial Surveillance, 13 people involved in the publication and sharing of this digital content, before their arrest by the judicial police of the city of Tetouan during security operations carried out in the cities of Dar Al Bayda, Tetouan, Larache, Ouazzane, Rabat, Mysore, Oujda, Fez, Mohammedia and Weslan.

In a related context, a similar security operation carried out in the city of Tangier resulted in the arrest of 47 suspects immediately after their arrival in the city via the train station and the bus station, in an attempt to respond to the incendiary video and digital recordings. to simply carry out a massive illegal immigration operation.

The persons concerned have been subjected to judicial investigation procedures carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover the true backgrounds of the commission of these criminal acts, while searches and investigations continue to monitor and arrest all the instigators and persons directly involved in the fabrication and dissemination of these false contents and news who wish to carry out collective illegal immigration operations.
