Around 40,000 companies expected to go bankrupt in Morocco this year

Heba Press – Casablanca
In a new study, professional forecasts indicate the possibility of bankruptcy of about forty companies, mostly small, this year in Morocco due to the economic crisis and a number of main reasons, such as lack of financing, the decline in public orders such as transactions and demand bonds, as well as delays or refusal to pay contributions.
In this regard, the Moroccan Confederation of Very Small, Small and Medium Enterprises explained that there are expectations indicating an increase in the number of such companies that will declare bankruptcy at the end of 2024.
According to the same data, the bankruptcy of about 40 thousand companies is expected, compared to 33 thousand companies in 2023 and ten thousand companies in 2019, noting that about 99 percent of companies threatened with imminent bankruptcy are represented by very small businesses.
