Conditions: Moroccan Jamal Ben Siddiq released after being accused in a “kidnapping” case

Prosecutors in the Belgian city of Antwerp decided this week to conditionally release Moroccan kickboxing champion Djamel Ben Siddiq after he was indicted two months ago on charges related to a kidnapping case.
International media reported that the Belgian justice system has not dropped the charges against Ben Siddiq, meaning that he will be prosecuted if he is released, and has not confirmed his obligation to wear the electronic bracelet, which the indictment chamber discussed during the hearing on Friday, July 26.
Belgian media made “serious” accusations against the Moroccan hero, and indicated that he was involved in a criminal organization, in addition to threatening to kill and possessing weapons, which Ben Siddiq denied, stressing that the Moroccan remained in provisional prison for a few weeks, before being allowed to leave, on condition that he put an ankle bracelet to monitor his movements.
Last July, Ben Siddiq was arrested during the investigation into the kidnapping of a 29-year-old man from the city of Antwerp. The man was allegedly involved in a drug trafficking operation and received a large sum of money in exchange for his cooperation. When he failed to comply with the agreements, he was kidnapped by Ben Siddiq and some of his accomplices.
