Massive poisoning incident in Chefchaouen province reaches Parliament (document)

The Authenticity and Modernity team of the House of Representatives sent a written question this week to the Minister of Health and Social Protection concerning the mass poisoning to which more than 70 people were exposed in the community of Tamrout, in the suburbs of Chefchaouen.
The question from the parliamentary team for authenticity and modernity in the House of Representatives read: “Over the past week, the community of Tamurout in Chefchaouen province witnessed a second incident of massive food poisoning following the consumption of a funeral dinner, which nearly led to the death of more than 70 people, mostly children, as about 30 injured people were taken to the Bab Bard health center, which raised great concern among the community’s residents about food safety, especially during group events.
The BAM team adds that this incident has prompted the relevant authorities to open their investigations to know the real causes of the poisoning and identify those responsible.
The same team also asked about the results of the investigations and the circumstances of the massive food poisoning that occurred in the community of Tamorout, in the province of Chefchaouen, as well as the procedures and measures that you will take to improve food safety conditions in the region.
