Due to the weight of the valleys… the roads are cut in the regions of Figig and Jerada

The Ministry of Equipment and Water issued, on Thursday, September 12, an information bulletin on the state of the roads, following the heavy rainfall in the south-east of the Kingdom, particularly in the regions of Jerada and Figuig, where 40 mm reached the tundra yesterday evening, Wednesday, causing record water loads in some valleys.
According to the news bulletin, in the province of Figuig, the national road No. 10 between Bouarfa and Bouanane is cut at the level of Oued Zalmo, as well as the national road No. 19 between Tundara and Taourirt, cut at the level of the valleys of Ghazalat, Mahrouk and Masanekh, and the national road No. 17 in Ouled El Himar is cut.
According to the same bulletin, in the province of Jerada, regional road no. 606 is cut off at the Ain Beni Mathar and Outat El Haj axis.
On the other hand, local authorities in these areas have mobilized all logistical capacities to provide aid to the affected residents, whether it be food or blankets. Members of the Royal Gendarmerie have also used helicopters to rescue stranded people, according to a weather report.
