This morning, Thursday, September 12, a preparatory meeting was held at the Guersif Penitentiary Institution, as part of the preparatory meeting for the implementation of the “Prisons Without Oud” program at the Guersif Penitentiary Institution.

This meeting was attended, in addition to the director of the Guersif penitentiary, by Ammari Rachid, president of the Guersif court of first instance, Ahmed Al-Youssoufi, public prosecutor at the Guersif court of first instance, Abdelaziz Al-Hafiani, president of the local scientific council, and Mohamed Laghmari, regional director of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Communication (Youth Sector), Bilal Broz, curator of the historical memory space, Mary Abdel Halim, coordinator of the Support and Reintegration Center in Oujda.

This meeting aims to present the program, provide explanations on its foundations and plan communication meetings according to a structured program, expressing their full availability to contribute and engage seriously and effectively in order to make this program a success and achieve the desired objectives.

The proposal to generalize the “Prisons without reintegration” program is part of the new vision of the General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration in the implementation of various programs for the reintegration of male and female prisoners in penitentiary institutions, which is based on the approach of individualization. integration programs according to the specificity of each prison category and its rehabilitation needs, with the aim of establishing support mechanisms to address the phenomenon of recidivism and mitigate it within the framework of the powers entrusted to the General Delegation, which is a program aimed primarily at the category of returning prisoners, they will be selected in a participatory framework with certain partner government sectors and civil society associations, based on a set of determinants whose common denominator is the number of cases of recidivism recorded in them.
