A well-informed source confirmed that the first case of monkeypox infection was recorded in the city of Marrakech.

The same source reports that the case concerns a young man who works in a hotel unit receiving Moroccan and foreign visitors.

The same source added that the young man was placed under medical observation at the Mohammed VI University Hospital, while the rest of the staff there underwent a medical examination.
