The Consulate of the Kingdom of Morocco in Rotterdam organizes a communication meeting with the community

Yesterday, Saturday 14 September, the Moroccan Consulate in Rotterdam organised a communication meeting attended by a large number of members of the Moroccan community, in addition to representatives of Moroccan associations and heads of mosques, in the presence of Mr Mohamed Basri, His Majesty’s Ambassador in The Hague.

After the speech of the Consul General, Mr. Abdel-Ali Al-Idrissi, who welcomed the audience and stressed the importance of communicating with the community on various issues, the speech was delivered by the Ambassador, who addressed in particular the humanitarian, social and development dimensions of the royal pardon decision on the occasion of the revolution of the king and the people, which included more than 8,000 cannabis growers in Morocco. In this regard, he stressed that this royal initiative is part of supporting the legalization of the production, use and marketing of this substance for legitimate purposes, thus transforming it into a source of income for thousands of families and a factor contributing to the development of the territories concerned.

Several important topics were also discussed during this meeting, including the reforms that the Consulate General in Rotterdam will witness to improve the level of service and reception for the benefit of citizens.

This allowed participants to ask questions and express their opinions and suggestions, which also included issues related to customs, prices, airports and schedules. It was also requested to establish schools to teach the Arabic language and memorize the Holy Quran, in order to meet the needs of the community and strengthen its connection with Moroccan culture.

The meeting also included the discussion of some of the issues that will need to be addressed in the future, as well as praising the acceleration of the procedures for issuing the national card and reducing the time required for its completion.

This communication meeting reflects the ongoing efforts of the Moroccan Consulate in Rotterdam to improve communication with the community and effectively address its issues and requests.
