The regulation of transport via intelligent applications depends on the consensus between the various stakeholders in the public transport sector regarding the introduction of this mode of transport on the market, said the Minister of Transport and Safety on Thursday. Logistics, Mohamed Abdeljalil.

Responding to a question on the “regulation of transport via intelligent applications” during a press briefing following the Governing Council, Mr. Abdeljalil indicated that the regulation of transport through these applications remains dependent on the consensus between the various stakeholders in the public transport sector, including small and large taxis and buses, regarding the introduction of this type of transport.

After highlighting “the specificities” specific to the Moroccan transport system, he highlighted the important role that small and large taxis play in the mobility of a large number of public transport users, in comparison with other countries that have multiple alternative means of transport.

The ministry is working on the development of a study aimed at developing a future vision of mobility across the Kingdom in order to upgrade the public transport sector, noted Mr. Abdeljalil, noting that this study will look, among other things , on the management of new modes of transport, particularly in the urban area.
