On Thursday morning, September 19, 2024, Sefrou’s group experienced a state of exception behind closed doors to avoid any riot or chaos within the session, which included 6 points including 5 accusations of dismissal of councilors, 4 of whom belonged to the opposition, while one councilor belonged to the majority.
These dismissals come after the Council recorded 5 intermittent absences of each councilor from Council meetings in application of chapter 67 of organic law 113-14 relating to local authorities.
In the context of this issue, the session saw, at the beginning, many interventions by the opposition in the context of a point of order, most of which were aimed at protesting the dismissal decision while presenting objections, all of which were answered and justified by the President of the Council, repeating the phrase: “I am here to apply the law” and “Whoever has an objection. Or if he finds that it is an illegal thing, he can resort to administrative justice, and that is his right.” These first five points ended with the withdrawal of the opposition without ending the session and without discussing the most important point, according to the President of the Council, namely the creation of a wastewater treatment plant for Sefrou and Sefrou. Bhalil communities, with a financial envelope estimated at twenty billion centimes.
The project will treat wastewater and partly polluted water from Oued Akkai to reuse it in watering the green spaces of Sefrou Bhalil and Fez, as is done in Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan and other cities. This treated water will also be used to irrigate fields. adjacent to the station with a daily production capacity exceeding 10 thousand cubic meters, this major project is also the result of a partnership between the Ministry of the Interior, the Regional Council of Fez-Meknes, the Independent Agency for Water and Electricity Distribution of Fez. , the Province of Sefrou, the Community of Sefrou and the Community of Bhalil.
