The president of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, insisted, Friday in Rabat, on the need for a resolute commitment from all parties concerned by social dialogue in favor of the implementation of the provisions of the tripartite agreement of April 30, 2022.

In a statement to the press following the meeting of a CGEM delegation with the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, as part of the new round of social dialogue, Mr. Alj indicated that this meeting “was mark of frankness and responsibility, all parties having expressed their demands and constraints. In this sense, he underlined the importance of a sustained commitment to the provisions contained in the agreement signed on April 30, 2022 between the government, the trade union centers and the CGEM.

“We are aware of the impact of inflation on the situation of workers, especially since companies, too, are faced with a series of constraints linked to the rise in the price of raw materials,” he said. -he adds.

For his part, the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, government spokesperson, Mustapha Baitas, welcomed, in a similar statement, the spirit of responsibility which prevailed during the different stages of the social dialogue.

Mr. Baitas noted that the trade union centers have expressed their social demands, particularly those linked to the increase in wages, adding that other issues are on the discussion table, in particular the law on strike and the reform of the system of retirement.

The new round of social dialogue was launched on Tuesday with a meeting between the Head of Government and a delegation from the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), followed by a meeting with a delegation from the General Union of Workers of Morocco ( UGTM) and the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT).
