Moroccan international Elias Akhomache received a campaign of racist insults from some Barcelona supporters, after the “Catalan” team’s 5-1 victory over Villarreal yesterday, in the sixth round of the Spanish Football League.
Many Spanish reports have indicated that Akhumash’s intervention on Lamine Yamal during the “Yellow Submarine” match against “Blaugrana”, angered some Barcelona fans and made them repeat racist phrases on social networks such as: “Go to Morocco and don’t come back, you’re a butcher.” “Envy kills” and “You deserve worse.”
After these racist campaigns, many Moroccans expressed their solidarity with Akhoumash, demanding justice for the “Lions” player.
Akhomash had chosen the Moroccan national team over Spain, after playing for “La Roja” in several Sunni categories.
Note that Akhumash joined Villarreal in the summer of 2023, after his contract with Barcelona expired.
