The local office of the National Union of Higher Education at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Casablanca has been monitoring the situation in the faculties of medicine and pharmacy.
The office stressed its continued call to find an urgent solution to the student strike in order to avoid disaster, indicating its mediation effort between the ministry and the students to help resolve the crisis, the last of which took place on July 19 of last year.
In this regard, the office denounced what it called violent interference against students, warning that the security approach would only complicate the situation.
The board called for defusing the crisis by dismissing suspended students and withdrawing the dissolution of student council offices, calling on college councils to meet to review previous disciplinary decisions.
The office appreciated the recent agreement, according to which pharmacy students decided to end the boycott and pass the exams, calling for students to be able to pass the exams in healthy and appropriate educational conditions.
The office renewed its call for a participatory approach in the reform of medical studies by involving all university sites, announcing its intention to hold a press conference, the date and location of which will be determined later, in order to enlighten public opinion and shed light on the position of the professors.
