The Wilaya… “La Découverte” and the Gendarmerie foil an international drug smuggling operation

The territorial brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie of the center of the Wilaya, falling within the district of Sidi Bennour, seized yesterday Thursday a large quantity of “hashish”, intended to be smuggled by sea to the European continent, as part of trafficking international drug trade. This intervention comes less than a week before Eid al-Fitr.

Indeed, the gendarmes seized last Thursday a quantity of drugs, made up of 84 packages, weighing approximately 2.5 tonnes, carefully packaged on board a motorized inflatable boat (Zodiac), approximately 10 kilometers north of the seaside resort. of the Wilaya, not far from the beach of “Sidi Daoud”.

Since the summer of last year, the Gendarmerie authorities of the provinces of Nouaceur and Sidi Bennour have succeeded in foiling international drug smuggling operations along the coasts of the Atlantic Ocean, the provinces of Nouaceur and Sidi Bennour. Sidi Bennour, towards the northern coast of the Mediterranean, following precise and valuable information provided by the civil intelligence services, known as “The Discovery”.
