A budget amounting to 250 million dirhams was allocated to carry out a project aimed at purifying and widening the watercourse of Wadi Mghugha and Wadi Souani in the city of Tangier.
This project, approved during recent sessions of the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council and the Tangier Community Council, aims to improve the watercourses of the two valleys and improve the flow of water in the course of final water. The project also aims to develop watercourses and their banks.
The financial allocations allocated to the project are distributed between several parties, since the Ministry of the Interior, through the General Directorate of Local Authorities, makes a contribution of 90 million dirhams, while the Ministry of Equipment and Water brings 100 million dirhams. The Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council is also making a contribution of 30 million dirhams, and the Tangier Community Council is supporting the project with a similar contribution of 30 million dirhams.
This project is part of efforts to protect the environment and promote sustainable development, in accordance with current national laws.
The Ministry of Equipment and Water will supervise the implementation of the project components financed by it, while the Community of Tangier will manage the project after the completion of the works, either directly or by delegation of control of artwork.
