Eid al-Fitr: Royal pardon for the benefit of 2,097 people

On the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, King Mohammed VI granted pardon to 2,097 people, sentenced by different courts in the Kingdom, some of whom are in detention and others at liberty, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Defense. Justice.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Pardon who are in detention number 1,809 detainees, distributed as follows:
– Pardon on the remainder of the prison or reclusion sentence for the benefit of 131 detainees.
– Remission of the sentence of imprisonment or reclusion for the benefit of 1,674 detainees.
– Commutation of the death sentence to a life sentence for the benefit of one (01) inmate.
– Commutation of the life sentence to a time sentence for the benefit of 03 prisoners.
The beneficiaries of the Royal Grace who are at liberty number 270 people, distributed as follows:
– Pardon on the prison sentence or its remainder for the benefit of 67 people.
– Pardon on the prison sentence with maintenance of the fine for the benefit of 13 people.
– Pardon on the fine for the benefit of 179 people.
– Pardon on the prison sentence and fine for the benefit of 11 people.
On this glorious occasion, the King was kind enough to grant his pardon to detainees convicted in cases of extremism and terrorism, who obtained royal approval after having officially expressed their attachment to the constants and sacredness of the Nation and to the national institutions, revised their ideological orientations and rejected extremism and terrorism. They number 18 people, distributed as follows:
– Pardon on the remainder of the custodial sentence for the benefit of 10 prisoners.
– Pardon on the remainder of the custodial sentence and the fine for the benefit of one (01) inmate.
– Remission of the custodial sentence for the benefit of 07 inmates.
