Bong Joon Ho starts filming Mickey7 starring Robert Pattinson

Academy award-winning South Korean director Bong Joon Ho has started production on his newest sci-fi film, starring British actor Robert Pattinson.

The movie is an adaptation of a recent Edward Ashton sci-fi novel of the same name.

It tells the story of a space traveler sent on a suicidal mission to colonize ice world Niflheim. After his death, his clone takes his place which makes Mickey7, the space traveler, immortal in a way.

Preproduction started in the UK with the implication of many production companies such as Kate Street Power Company, Off-screen, and Plan B Entertainment.

Film enthusiasts are expecting this to be as good as Bong Joon’s last movie, Parasite, which was awarded four trophies at the 92 academy award. Parasite won Best Original Screenplay, Best International Film, Best Director, and Best Picture.

The film broke two Guinness world records making history as an international film, being the first to ever win both the Best International Feature Film and Best Picture Oscar, and landing the most Oscar wins for an international feature film.

Alongside Robert Pattinson, Mickey7 is starting Toni Colette known for her unforgettable role in Hereditary, and Naom Ackie who is known for her role in the young lady.

Casting Robert Pattinson as a lead actor comes as no surprise. The British actor had an eventful year with the release of Batman, a reboot of the Batman franchise.

This role shows Pattinson’s extreme dedication to bringing a character to life, from changes in his appearance to his voice, Curt Cobain’s inspired portrayal of batman is very critically acclaimed.

The Korean author’s film is highly anticipated but no release date has been reported yet.
