Chakib Laalaj, president of the Moroccan Business Federation, revealed ongoing discussions between Morocco and France to strengthen economic cooperation and develop a new partnership based on innovation and sustainable development.
Laalj explained that Morocco and France, which maintain strong historical and strategic relations, are now seeking to build a renewed partnership aimed at stimulating economic growth through cutting-edge sectors such as green hydrogen, rail transport and technology.
In a press release published on the Channel 2 website, Laalaj believes that “this cooperation aims to achieve common benefits, allowing both countries to seize available investment opportunities and develop specific projects that contribute to diversification of their savings.
Laalaj stressed that “France is considered the first economic partner of Morocco, since its foreign direct investments in the Kingdom amounted to approximately 8.1 billion euros during the year 2022, with the hope that this figure will increase significantly in the coming years.”
In his speech, Laalj also discussed the role of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises in supporting this renewed dynamic, highlighting the ongoing coordination with the French Employers’ Federation to draw a clear roadmap for future joint economic projects.
Laalaj stressed that this cooperation is not limited to traditional sectors, but rather extends to new and innovative sectors that contribute to building a partnership compatible with the challenges of the modern economy and the objectives of sustainable development.
