The Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, has denied the validity of rumors circulating concerning the occurrence of floods in the eastern regions due to the rain-seeding process.
The minister said on Tuesday in his response to questions from parliamentarians in the House of Advisors: “Dakshi, what you write is false. The floods that occurred in the eastern regions were not due to the seeding process of rains, but to divine power.
The minister revealed that the operation was carried out 21 times in 2021, in 2022 the operation was carried out 27 times, during the year 2023 it was carried out 22 times, and during this year it was made with crushed materials 30 times and with plane 40 times.
The minister added: “We resort to this technique during periods of drought and we follow weather reports and warning bulletins to avoid carrying out the operation during periods of rain in order to protect citizens and their property.”
