Morocco is home to billionaires: More than 6,800 Moroccans reach the status of millionaires in the kingdom

With this in mind, a recent report revealed that “Moroccans live well”, with a remarkable multiplication in the number of millionaires over the last ten years, and even an increase in the number of people whose wealth exceeds a million dollars.

According to data from a special report on wealth in Africa for the year 2024, published by the global consulting firm Henley and Partners, Morocco has become one of the countries that hosts the most rich people, whether they are billionaires or millionaires in recent years.

The report indicates that Morocco now ranks fifth on the African continent in terms of the number of millionaires, with around 6,800 people, or more than 6,800 millionaires.

On the other hand, according to the same data from the unofficial report, Morocco occupies third place in terms of the number of billionaires, with four people whose wealth exceeds one billion dollars, out of a total of 21 billionaires across the African continent.

The report also confirms that Casablanca is home to the largest number of millionaires in Morocco, with around half residing in the economic capital and developing their activities there, thus accumulating their wealth through large investments in this megalopolis.

The report highlights that the majority of Moroccan millionaires operate mainly in the real estate, technology, tourism, mining, media, energy, manufacturing and commerce sectors.

Faced with this data, some ask: “How can Morocco be in crisis when people are living well? » A simple question but the answer to it is complex and difficult. It is business intelligence, exploitation of opportunities and an appetite for risk that have led most of these individuals to the pinnacle of wealth and financial success…
