4th International Conference on Public Health in Africa 2024: Agreement between the Moroccan government, the African Union and the Africa CDC

The Minister of Health and Social Protection Prof. Khalid Ait Taleb chaired, along with the Director General of the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) Dr. Jean Kaseya, the approval and signing ceremony of the hosting agreement for the International Conference on Public Health in Africa 2024, between the Moroccan government, the African Union and the Africa CDC.

This conference is part of the preparations of the Kingdom of Morocco to host the 4th international conference on public health in Africa, scheduled for November this year.

On this occasion, the scientific, technical and organizational committees were formed, which made it possible to define their respective responsibilities, in addition to the designation of the general coordinators of this conference.

Moroccan participation in the 3rd international conference on public health in Africa, which was held in Zambia last November, under the presidency of the Minister of Health and Social Protection Prof. Khalid Ait Taleb, was crowned by the approval of the organization by the Kingdom of the 4th edition of the international conference on public health in Africa.

The choice of Morocco to organize this global event is part of the close cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the African Union and the Africa CDC.

This joint initiative is a concrete illustration of the Kingdom’s firm commitment to promoting public health in Africa, in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and to guaranteeing the health sovereignty of the African continent.

It is also a commitment by key stakeholders to strengthen health care in Africa. This initiative is also a valuable opportunity to share experiences and explore innovative solutions to the health challenges of the Continent.

This conference will bring together between 8,000 and 10,000 officials and decision-makers from different countries on the Continent, as well as more than 30,000 remote participants. Global experts, practitioners and researchers in the field of health will also be present to share best practices, exchange knowledge and encourage collaboration between different stakeholders and organizations involved in the field of public health.

It should be noted that this event will constitute an essential platform for exchanging points of view and discussing current issues in the field of public health. It will also be an opportunity to discuss the health challenges facing the African continent, to seek ways to strengthen international cooperation to address them and to promote partnership efforts and scientific collaboration and innovation.
