Morocco has established itself as a world football power, assured the president of the International Football Federation (FIFA), Gianni Infantino.
“Morocco has established itself as a world football power, not only in terms of the field and sporting results, with obviously the historic qualification of the Moroccan team for the semi-final of the Qatar-2022 World Cup , but also as the host country of several major events”, highlighted the FIFA President, in a statement to the press, upon his arrival on Sunday at Rabat-Salé international airport to attend in particular the final of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in futsal, which will pit Morocco against Angola this evening (8:00 p.m.). “I am happy to have returned home to the Kingdom of Morocco. It is football that dominates, breathes, vibrates and lives in this country,” he added.
Regarding the futsal CAN (Morocco-2024), Mr. Infantino stressed that “Morocco plays an important role as host country”, hailing an “exceptional” organization.
“On the eve of the 2030 World Cup,” he continued, “we know what Morocco knows and can do. We are proud to be part of this great team here in Morocco to participate in these future challenges which will change the image of football in the world thanks to Morocco.” The Moroccan futsal selection will face its Angolan counterpart this evening (8:00 p.m.), at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex, in the CAN final.
