The ONMT puts “Rabat, City of Light” in the starting blocks of French Tour Operators

The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) puts “Rabat, City of Light” in the starting blocks of French Tour Operators, on the occasion of the annual Forum of the French Tour Operating Business Union (SETO), which is being held from April 24 to 26, 2024.

For its 2024 edition, Rabat was chosen to host this forum, the announcement of which was made in Marrakech last November on the sidelines of an event organized by the ONMT which was in a seduction operation among prescribers of French travel, the Office said in a press release.

The choice is highly symbolic and allows the ONMT to place the destination “Rabat, City of Light, Capital of Culture” on the map of major emerging tourist destinations, the press release specifies.

The forum brings together, for its 2024 edition, 130 French participants including tourism personalities and specialists, managers of the largest French Tour Operators and Journalists from the French professional press.

The event, which started on Wednesday, was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, who welcomed the choice of Rabat for holding the this important event, reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting partnerships that contribute to the development of tourism in Morocco.

The SETO Forum is the major event for the tourism profession in France. Organized every year since 2009, it allows members to share the latest sales reports, to discuss common projects and French travel trends, but also to bring together in a friendly format all the players in the profession around of recognized specialists who enrich the conferences, debates and interventions with their visions and expertise.

In addition to the analysis of tourism figures and 2024 trends, three major themes will be addressed during the SETO 2024 Forum, namely the global economic situation, climate and tourism and geopolitics with selected speakers including, in particular, former French Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hubert Vedrine.

The SETO forum also provides networking sessions between French Tour Operators and Moroccan tourism stakeholders from different regions of Morocco with the aim of developing programming for all regions of the kingdom.
