SIAM 2024: Closing of a record edition under the sign of climate and sustainable and resilient agriculture

The International Agricultural Show of Morocco (SIAM) closed its doors this Sunday, April 28, marking the end of a successful 16th edition. Placed under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Help Him, SIAM has once again established itself as the unmissable event for the agricultural sector in Africa, and as one of the most significant events of the field on the international scene. Organized from April 22 to 28, 2024, the 16th edition, the opening of which was chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay El Hassan, the show took as its theme “Climate and Agriculture: for sustainable and resilient production systems” , highlighting crucial issues for the future of agriculture, with. lSpainSpain as a country, guest of honor of this edition, contributed to enrich the dialogue and strengthen links with players in the sector from the four corners of the world. This year, the show brought together 70 countries and welcomed 45 official delegations, led by 22 foreign ministers, which contributed to enriching dialogue and strengthening ties with sector players from all over the world. which included farmers, researchers, policy makers and entrepreneurs, were able to discover innovations and trends in the sector spread across 12 thematic clusters, including the new Agri-Digital Cluster. The latter introduced advanced technologies intended to optimize agricultural practices. SIAM has also been a hub for knowledge exchange with 41 scientific conferences and the signing of more than 19 strategic conventions, highlighting its role as a catalyst for commercial and scientific opportunities in the agricultural field. With a record participation of 1,500 exhibitors and more than a million visitors, the show has not only consolidated its reputation but also its impact on the sector. The Local Products Centre, significantly expanded this year to cover almost 16,000 m², welcomed 512 exhibitors representing GIEs and cooperatives. He highlighted cooperatives, including those in areas affected by the Al Haouz earthquake, allowing these communities to showcase their products and benefit from new business opportunities. The Agri-Digital Center, inaugurated this year, immediately established itself as a leading innovation center. With the active participation of many innovative companies, this center has been dedicated to the development of advanced solutions for agriculture that is both intelligent and efficient. This commitment to digital technology demonstrates the show’s desire to promote agricultural practices that combine tradition and innovation, thus responding effectively to contemporary challenges. SIAM thus continues to play a key role in the development of sustainable and resilient agriculture, by facilitating exchanges between key players in the sector and promoting the adoption of innovative solutions on a global scale.
