The work of the National Forum for Blind and Visually Impaired Women, initiated by the Alaouite Organization for the Promotion of the Blind in Morocco (OAPAM) chaired by HH Princess Lalla Lamia Essolh, began last Saturday in Témara under the theme “Blind women: ambition and challenges”.

The organization of this two-day meeting, which is being held at the Mohammed VI Institute for Education and Teaching of the Blind in Témara, takes place within the framework of the implementation of the activities proposed in the general strategy of the ‘OAPAM.

Through a range of workshops, the forum aims to program activities relating to various areas capable of contributing to strengthening the work of blind women within society.

On the menu of the forum are thematic workshops on culture and art, social affairs, training and qualification, information, communication and awareness-raising, legal affairs and advocacy, which will lead to the establishment of a general program of activities.

Through its various sections at the national level, OAPAM aims to guarantee the social inclusion of the blind and visually impaired, whose visual disability does not prevent them from fully enjoying their rights, particularly in terms of education, training and of employment.
