Spain – Arrest of two people who fled with large quantities of historic Moroccan currencies

The Spanish security service arrested two individuals, an Italian and a Spaniard, in possession of large quantities of historic Moroccan currencies, according to what the Spanish Interior Ministry announced.
The same source added that large quantities of historic Moroccan currencies were seized, having been smuggled using falsified documents. These are 113 dirhams in silver and 4 operations in gold.
The Spanish Interior Ministry said those involved attempted to bring the historic currencies into the country using falsified documents to justify their possession, provided by the second individual arrested, who is director of an auction house at auction. It was clarified that this followed a lengthy investigation that lasted more than a year, after information was provided by their Moroccan counterparts regarding this activity.
