First of its kind in Africa… Oracle launches an innovation center in Morocco and creates a thousand jobs

Morocco continues to attract large global companies who choose the kingdom as an investment destination, thanks to the political and security stability, as well as the promising opportunities offered to businessmen, the geographical position, the of qualified workmanship, and other factors.

In this context, an agreement was signed in San Francisco, in the United States, with the American company Oracle, to launch a project which is the first of its kind in Africa and will be hosted by Morocco. This is a partnership with Oracle to create a research and innovation center in Morocco, offering more than 1000 jobs.

The Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Ghita Mzouri, signed yesterday, Thursday, May 9, 2024, in San Francisco, in the United States, a partnership agreement with the Oracle group, world leader in information technologies, to launch a research and innovation center creating 1,000 high value-added jobs for Moroccan skills, engineers and researchers, who will contribute to the development of cloud and artificial intelligence solutions for Oracle customers around the world.

This partnership agreement, signed in the presence of Safra Catz, CEO of the Oracle group, Mouhsine El Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of investment and evaluation of public policies, and Aouay El Saddiki, Director General of the Agency Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE), is part of the royal vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God glorify him, who called to encourage young Moroccans in the field of innovation and to strengthen our country’s position as a productive investment destination.

It is worth noting that Oracle is one of the largest and most important information technology companies in general and databases in particular, founded in 1977 by Larry Ellison. The company has numerous customer service centers in more than 145 countries.

Oracle is the only technology services provider with a comprehensive suite of integrated cloud applications and cloud infrastructure platform. Oracle Cloud provides all the services needed to migrate, build and run IT, from existing enterprise workloads to new cloud data and application platforms.
