The Spanish consul in Tetouan for “Hibapress”: 70% of visa applications are approved

The Spanish Consul General in Tetouan, Alvaro Castiyo Agilar, explained that the Consulate General of Tetouan receives a total of 20,000 visa applications each year, of which 70% are positively approved. This demonstrates the considerable facilities granted to Moroccan citizens for various reasons, including the distinction in bilateral relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Spanish consul general added in a statement to the electronic newspaper “Hibapress” that the visa approval rate is perfectly proportional to that of other Spanish consulates distributed throughout Moroccan territory. He also underlined that the rate of visa issuance by Spanish consulates in Morocco exceeds that of consulates of other European countries belonging to the Schengen area.
The Consul General affirmed that the processing and examination of applications is carried out with the utmost respect and preservation of the dignity of the applicants, as well as with appropriate precision in an organized, secure manner, and of course, approval is given if the conditions are met.
The Spanish consul expressed his understanding and regret for the people whose applications were refused and for the dissatisfaction they feel with the rejection, especially when they have made a serious request to obtain the visa. He added that the visa department at the Consulate General of Tetouan does its best and transparently to approve qualified applications to obtain the visa, but sometimes mistakes are made unintentionally and human beings are prone to mistakes in general.
He noted that the visa officers at the Consulate General of Tetouan are all civilian employees and professionals, having passed very difficult tests in the civil service in Spain, and that they have more than three decades of experience in this diplomatic and consular area, in addition to their extensive knowledge of immigration issues, and that they make no distinction between people for political, ethnic, or national reasons, these are solid principles guaranteed by the Spanish constitution .
The Spanish Consul General in Tetouan concluded his statement by affirming that Moroccan citizens are considered brothers across the strait and that their visa applications will continue to be processed as usual with great care, a study objective and transparent in accordance with the principles of preservation of human dignity, and of course, strictly respecting the law without distinction of race, religion or sex.
