Spain instructs the company “Ineco” to review the cost of the gigantic tunnel between Morocco and Spain.

Spanish newspapers have reported that the government has commissioned state-owned engineering company Ineco to review the feasibility and financial cost of the tunnel planned to be built between Morocco and Spain.
The Spanish newspaper “Vozpópuli” reported that the said company was tasked with carrying out a new evaluation of the project before mid-2026, determining construction alternatives and their feasibility, as well as studying the corresponding safety and estimating the financial costs of all operations, including those on the Moroccan side.
Initial cost estimates for the underwater tunnel project vary between 5 and 10 billion euros, according to Vozpópuli.
