A Royal Navy High Seas Patroller provided assistance, on Saturday, 64 km northwest of the port of Tan-Tan, to 59 would-be irregular migrants in difficulty aboard an inflatable boat in degraded condition.
The people rescued, including 13 women and 11 minors, all from sub-Saharan Africa, were planning to reach the Canary Islands, indicates a press release from the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
They received the necessary care before being entrusted to the Royal Gendarmerie for the usual administrative procedures, specifies the same source.
