MRE: MAD 9.2 billion in transfers in January 2024

Fund transfers made by Moroccans Living Abroad (MRE) stood at 9.2 billion dirhams (billion dirhams) during the month of January 2024, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

These transfers show a decrease of 2.6% compared to January 2023, indicates the Foreign Exchange Office in its recent bulletin on monthly indicators of foreign trade.

According to the same source, the surplus in the services balance stood at MAD 10.45 billion last January, down 2.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

This surplus covers an increase in imports of 10.7% to 10.41 billion dirhams and exports of 3.7% to 20.87 billion dirhams.

Furthermore, the Foreign Exchange Office reports that the Travel surplus fell to 5.83 billion dirhams, following the fall in revenues of 10.5% to 7.71 billion dirhams and expenses of 2.9% to 1.88 billion dirhams. MMDH.
