In January 2024, residents of the city of Salé rejoiced at the start of work to expand the last section of the Salé — Kenitra national road from PK 257+600 to PK 261+200 between the Chams Arrondissement Laayayda subdivision and the neighborhood Chmaou Arrondissement Bab Lamrissa, except that everyone was surprised that the work stopped at the start of the technical study, the reason given is that the expropriation decision was not issued to compensate some of the residents of the “GUEZZARA” lot next to the old market, according to the process of demolition of their houses as revealed to us by certain sources,

Note that the completion of the National Salé – Kénitra road stopped in March 2021 and since that date the last phase has been ignored for these reasons.

This project will be carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Transport Equipment and Logistics of Rabat, with the company GCR-SA in Skhirat, the amount of project work is estimated at 47,229,361.20 DH including tax for a distance of 3.60 km.

The project’s completion time is eight months, including three and a half months which have already passed, pending the pronouncement of the expropriation judgment which hinders its completion.
