Aeronautics: Partnership agreement for the establishment in Morocco of the Canadian company Shimco

A partnership agreement was signed on Friday in Rabat between the Integrated Industrial Platform – Midparc and the Canadian company operating in the aerospace sector, Shimco, for its establishment in the Nouaceur free zone.

Speaking during this ceremony, in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Ryad Mezzour, the president of Midparc, Hamid Benbrahim El Andaloussi, said he was honored to welcome the Shimco company, renowned for its major expertise in the aeronautics sector.

“The Shimco company was attracted by the quality, competitiveness and resilience of the Moroccan aeronautical base which offers a unique business model,” underlined Mr. Benbrahim El Andaloussi.

And to specify that Shimco is currently “committed to a 1,300 m² module, and plans to double its capacity in the next three years, then triple it in the next seven years”, which demonstrates the development potential of its activities in the Morocco.

In this regard, Mr. Benbrahim El Andaloussi highlighted the strong anticipated demand for Morocco in the aeronautics sector, with orders from major aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus spanning the next ten to twelve years.

He also expressed Midparc’s satisfaction, reinforced by the growing diversification of the market, illustrated by the recent establishment of the Spanish aeronautical group Aciturri, to which is now added that of Shimco, assuring that “new announcements are expected in the months future “.

For his part, the CEO of Shimco, Peter Voss, emphasized the importance of establishing his company in Morocco, due to the advantages that the country offers, particularly in terms of production costs.

The establishment in Midparc represents an excellent opportunity, given that this area is booming in the aerospace sector, he said, noting Shimco’s ambition to double its aeronautical production capacity in the next three or next four years.

Midparc is an extension of the aeronautical industries zone of Casablanca (Aéropole). A benchmark industrial zone in Morocco, Midparc is already home to several international companies, such as Boeing and Stelia Maroc. It offers an exceptional and unique logistics position at the gates of Europe and Africa.
