It is today Friday May 17, 2024, in the afternoon, that the festivities of the 12th edition of the “MATA” International Horse Riding Festival will officially begin, which will last until the day after tomorrow, Sunday May 19, 2024 in Larache , at the initiative of the Alamia Laaroussia Association for social and cultural action, under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
It is known that the official opening ceremony, the stages of the Mata rider competition and the exhibition of agricultural products as well as the closing and crowning ceremonies of MATTA statistics are particularly followed on a large scale on the national level and international
It must be recognized that the event is organized by the Mawali Abdessalam ben Mchich command and the Arbaà Ayacha community, Znaid district, under the slogan “Mata is an ancient physical heritage and a space for the exchange of human cultures”, which resulted this year in its inclusion on the UNESCO list, for the first time after immense efforts in this direction, Morocco having taken the initiative not to neglect its particularities and let them disappear without being able to memorize them and It is in this sense in particular that Mr. Nabil Baraka, president of the international equestrian festival “mata” reacted well by declaring that the registration of the latter with UNESCO constitutes a national crowning achievement and an honor for the intangible heritage in the name of Morocco, which is achieved today thanks to the Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, because “Mata has today become a space for dialogue and exchange of human cultures. A feat achieved thanks to royal patronage.”
On the other hand, it should be highlighted that this year’s edition aims to make the various spaces of Mata an opportunity to highlight the characteristics of Moroccan civilization and to strengthen the communication bridges between the continents of the world, because Morocco represents, under the prosperous reign of His Majesty the King, a center of development. The spiritual, cultural, economic and social development of Morocco at all levels, which is summed up in the historical space of the festival, in which a large number of dignitaries and authorities, a large number of personalities and national organizations and international people who participate in this festival.
