Presidential election in Mauritania: The provisional list of candidates revealed

The Mauritanian Constitutional Council unveiled on Friday the provisional list of candidates for the presidential election scheduled for next June.

This provisional list includes seven candidates, including the current President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who will run for the presidential election, the first round of which will take place on June 29, specifies the Constitutional Council in a press release.

And to add that each candidate has the right to oppose the provisional list before the Constitutional Council within 48 hours of its publication.

The Mauritanian electorate is called to vote on June 29 to elect the President of the Republic and in the event of a second round on July 13. The electoral campaign will begin on Friday June 14 and end on Thursday June 27 at midnight.
