The United Kingdom strengthens its trade relations with Morocco and doubles its imports of Moroccan phosphates

Political, economic and commercial relations between Morocco and the United Kingdom have experienced significant development in recent years. The Kingdom of Morocco is now one of the main suppliers to the British market for several products, notably phosphates.

Perhaps the best example of the strength of trade and economic relations between the two countries is the proposed undersea cable to transport clean energy from the Moroccan desert to the heart of the United Kingdom.

In this regard, the United Kingdom confirmed that its fertilizer imports increased significantly from several countries, led by Morocco, over the period from March 2023 to February this year.

The UK Government’s Minister of State for Business and Trade told Parliament that the latest data shows that the largest increase in fertilizer imports came from Morocco, reflecting the strength of the trade and economic relations that now unite the two countries.
