Mr. Fouzi LEKJAA, Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Economy and Finance Mr. Ousmane Dione, new Vice-President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa.

Mr. LEKJAA and Mr. Dione discussed the collaboration between Morocco and the World Bank Group, notably the strengthening of the solid and long-standing partnership between the two parties.

On this occasion, the Vice-President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa praised the efforts undertaken by our country, particularly in terms of energy transition and social protection. He further noted that the World Bank is supporting Morocco in several essential projects and reforms in accordance with the New Development Model.

The Vice-President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa indicated that the Bank wishes to focus on five priorities, namely climate, notably water and energy, employment, inclusive growth. , reform and innovation as well as regional connectivity between Morocco and Africa.

The Minister Delegate indicated that the government is working on a societal project with emphasis on human capital, particularly in terms of social protection, education and health. He further indicated that the government is working to build a strong and structured economy with sustainable and inclusive growth.

In this context, Mr. LEKJAA underlined to the World Bank that the efforts undertaken by Morocco within the framework of regional connectivity between Morocco and Africa arise from the enlightened vision of HIS MAJESTY THE KING that GOD Assists him in particular in the framework of the Atlantic Initiative, the port of Dakhla and the High Speed ​​Line.
