The next AfDB Annual Meetings scheduled for the end of May 2025 in Abidjan

The next Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group will be held at the end of May 2025 in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire).

This announcement was made during the closing ceremony of these assemblies which took place this year in Nairobi (Kenya) under the theme “the transformation of Africa, the African Development Bank Group and reform of the global financial architecture.

These Assemblies were an opportunity for Bank Governors to share their experiences on the progress made by their respective countries in transforming their economies, the main obstacles encountered in this process and the key reforms undertaken to overcome or at least reduce them. their negative effects to a minimum.

These governors also outlined their positions on proposed reforms to the international financial architecture and discussed how the current global financial system has hampered the financing of their ambitions for structural transformation.

This year, the AfDB Annual Meetings were attended by 8,300 participants, including heads of multilateral development banks, diplomats, development partners, representatives of civil society organizations and the private sector.

These assemblies were also marked by the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the ADB under the slogan “60 years of making a difference”. To this end, the President of the Bank, Akinwumi Adesina recalled that since the first projects in Sierra Leone and Kenya, the Institution has implemented more than 5,600 projects in Africa.
